Jose Manuel Calderon has become a father to a baby boy born at nine o'clock Sunday night (May 23, 2010) at the hospital in Villanueva de la Serena, Badajoz, Spain; the town the PG of the Toronto Raptors is from. The boy, whom his parents have named Manuel weighes in 7.94 lbs and measures 50 cm. The basketball player's wife Ana Hurtado, is in perfect condition after giving birth, which took place by caesarean section. José Manuel put his professional commitments aside in order to be in his country with his wife. Both wanted the child to be Spanish born and came into the world in a Social Security hospital in his village, where he married. He is a simple person and very close, true to his roots. José Manuel will be an asset for the FIBA World Championships which will take place in Turkey later this year to the probable absence of Pau Gasol in the Spanish National Team.-source
