Jordi Villacampa, president of Joventut of Badalona, has admitted that there was contact with 'Barca'(Barcelona) on Ricky Rubio, but has revealed that to date does not exist any formal offer from the 'blue-scarlet' team for the point guard.
Hours after Barca first admitted, through its direct responsibility, interest in Ricky Rubio; Villacampa explained to EFE that he has received a communication from Barca, which it informed him that it was negotiating with the player.
"There has been contact with Barca, but they have not made a formal offer," explained Villacampa. The president believes that as days pass the picture will become clearer and that there are only three possibilities.
"Or he rides out his contract and stays with us, or goes to Barca or Real Madrid, or goes to the NBA. In fact, Minnesota's leaders are convinced that he'll end up playing in the United States," he added.
The battle is over the buyout that Ricky Rubio has with his contract (5,7 million euros). Any team wishing to sign the point guard, is forced to negotiate with Joventut, who has the upper hand.
"We're waiting, we have no rush and we will not enter into any war," insisted the president of Joventut.
